W kolejnych latach prof. Wrzesińska z sukcesem składała liczne wnioski o granty międzynarodowe. Obecnie realizuje dwa projekty unijne Jeden z nich to Co-Captain poświęcony osobom z zaburzeniami zdrowia psychicznego i zapobieganiu nowotworom. Naukowcy zaobserwowali, że u osób, które doświadczają kryzysu zdrowia psychicznego, choroby nowotworowe nie są zbyt szybko wykrywane, ponieważ objawy chorób onkologicznych często są maskowane m.in. przez efekty uboczne farmakoterapii. Projekt zakładał zbadanie tej zależności i ustalenie działań profilaktycznych, szczególnie ważnych w tym aspekcie.
– Do realizacji tego projektu potrzebowałam jednak specjalistów z różnych dziedzin, którzy mają umiejętności zarówno praktyczne, jak i takie w zakresie projektowania realizacji i ewaluacji badań na podstawie np. analiz statystycznych – mówi prof. Wrzesińska.
Na początku do współpracy zaprosiła członków zespołu Zakładu Rehabilitacji Psychospołecznej: Jarosława Rakoczego, specjalistę w zakresie psychometrii, który wykonuje analizy statyczne, oraz psycholożki: Magdalenę Kostyłę i Katarzynę Binder-Olibrowską, które czuwają nad realizacją zadań zgonie z protokołami badań i wykonują działania interwencyjne wśród uczestników projektu.
– Droga, która rozpoczęła się w zasadzie w 2016 roku, doprowadziła do szerokiej współpracy w ramach naszej uczelni między specjalistami z różnych dziedzin – podsumowuje prof. Wrzesińska.
Dla osób w kryzysie
Projekt zakładał także wykonanie badań jakościowych. Specjalistką w tym zakresie jest z kolei dr Magdalena Wieczorkowska, Kierownik Zakładu Socjologii UMED, która dołączyła do zespołu w 2023 roku. – Pracowałyśmy z prof. Wrzesińską w tym samym budynku, mijałyśmy się czasem na schodach, ale każda była zaangażowana w inne projekty. Osobiście poznałyśmy się dopiero na jednym ze spotkań dotyczących przygotowania wniosków grantowych. Kilka miesięcy później pani profesor skontaktowała się ze mną i spytała, czy nie chciałabym zaprojektować części badań w jej projekcie i tak zaczęła się nasza współpraca – wspomina dr Wieczorkowska.
Ekspertka odpowiadała za zaprojektowanie i realizację badań jakościowych, m.in. przygotowanie scenariuszy wywiadów focusowych, które miały służyć zdobyciu pogłębionych informacji od osób, które są w kryzysie i doświadczają różnych problemów zdrowotnych.
– Badanie musiało być zgodne z zasadami metodologicznymi tak, żeby spełniało wszystkie standardy. Jednocześnie musiało uwzględniać specyfikę grupy. Brały w nim udział osoby doświadczające kryzysu zdrowia psychicznego, musieliśmy więc zapewnić im wsparcie psychologiczne i być otwarci na ich rezygnację z udziału w badaniach – wyjaśnia dr Wieczorkowska.
Naukowcy na początku 2024 roku przeprowadzili trzy spotkania z kilkunastoma uczestnikami badania. W ten sposób chcieli stworzyć i omówić model nawigacji pacjenta w kryzysie zdrowia psychicznego i dostosować go do pierwotnej profilaktyki onkologicznej w polskim systemie ochrony zdrowia. Chodzi konkretnie o utworzenie funkcji nawigatora, który miałby doradzać w zakresie zdrowego stylu życia i wspierać takie osoby w podejmowaniu działań prozdrowotnych.
Każde spotkanie dotyczyło innych zagadnień związanych z Modelem Nawigacji Pacjenta (MNP). Podczas pierwszej rozmowy specjaliści przybliżyli pacjentom idee całego projektu i zaprezentowali wyniki z pierwszego etapu badań. Na tym samym spotkaniu uczestnicy dyskutowali także o celach MNP i potencjalnych odbiorcach. Na drugiej sesji badani skupili się na roli nawigatora. – Wykorzystując technikę World Cafe, w mniejszych zespołach omawiali, kto mógłby być takim nawigatorem, jakie cechy i wykształcenie powinna posiadać taka osoba, w jaki sposób powinna prowadzić pacjenta w systemie ochrony zdrowia i w jakich formach powinna przebiegać współpraca – opowiada dr Wieczorkowska. Podczas trzeciego spotkania wspólnie ustalano rekomendacje dotyczące całego Modelu Nawigacji Pacjenta, które stały się podstawą do przygotowania interwencji.
– Badanie fokusowe polega przede wszystkim na interakcji, więc głównym naszym zadaniem było pobudzenie uczestników do rozmów i uzyskanie od nich odpowiedzi: co się sprawdzi, co nie, jak oni postrzegają problem, czy zmiana jest potrzebna – wylicza dr Wieczorkowska.
Inne perspektywy, nowe możliwości
Do realizacji jakościowych badań działań został także zaproszony prof. Jakub Kaźmierski, kierownik Kliniki Psychiatrii Wieku Podeszłego i Zaburzeń Psychotycznych w Centralnym Szpitalu Klinicznym Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Łodzi. Jako specjalista z dziedziny psychiatrii podzielił się doświadczeniem naukowym i praktycznym. Wraz z nim w 2023 roku prof. Wrzesińska przeprowadziła też badania ilościowe.
– Teraz zespół profesor Wrzesińskiej pracuje nad wdrożeniem MNP. Z racji moich zainteresowań badawczych w tym etapie już nie uczestniczę, ale realizacja tego modelu będzie efektem tego, co wspólnie uzyskaliśmy w badaniach focusowych – podkreśla dr Wieczorkowska.
– Okazało się, że na uniwersytecie możemy bez problemu korzystać z mixed method study. Dzięki współpracy jesteśmy w stanie przeprowadzić badania ilościowe i jakościowe, co daje nam holistyczne spojrzenie na naukę. Oprócz zdiagnozowania problemu możemy też odpowiedzieć na pytanie, z czego on wynika i co zrobić, żeby go zniwelować – dodaje prof. Wrzesińska.
Podobnego zdania jest dr Wieczorkowska. Jak podkreśla, taka współpraca otwiera nowe możliwości i pozwala spojrzeć na zakres problematyki, którą się zajmują naukowcy, z zupełnie innych perspektyw.
– Profesor Wrzesińska jest absolwentką zdrowia publicznego, ja – socjologii, profesor Kaźmierski jest psychiatrą, więc nasze spojrzenia na dane zagadnienie są inne. Możliwość spotkania się, wypracowania wspólnego stanowiska uwzględniającego nasze dziedziny badawcze jest nieoceniona. Taka interdyscyplinarna perspektywa pozwala nam dogłębnie przeanalizować dany problem. Gdy pracujemy indywidualnie, zazwyczaj nasza perspektywa jest uboższa – stwierdza dr Wieczorkowska. Współpraca między naukowcami z różnych dziedzin, na co zwraca uwagę socjolożka, poszerza horyzonty i motywuje do dalszego naukowego rozwoju. – W związku z tym projektem postanowiłam rozwijać swoje kompetencje w zakresie badań jakościowych i we wrześniu uczestniczyłam w szkoleniu, w czasie którego uczyłam się nowej metodologii badań jakościowych. Mam nadzieję, że w niedługim czasie będę mogła wykorzystać ją w kolejnych projektach – podaje przykład dr Wieczorkowska. Jedyną trudność, jaką miałaby wskazać, to zgranie napiętych grafików i ustalenie terminu wspólnych spotkań. – Innych minusów nie ma, z takiej współpracy płyną same pozytywy – podkreśla dr Wieczorkowska.
Wdrożenie modelu nawigacji pacjenta w kryzysie zdrowia psychicznego do pierwotnej profilaktyki onkologicznej ma zakończyć się we wrześniu 2025 roku.
